The company was founded in 1925 by Carlo Bottarini. According to the company's description at the time, it started as a “cooper and seller of casks, buckets and similar”. After an early crisis, which hit the production of wine casks and vats for vinegar, the company began producing and distributing drums for the fledgling tannery business in the area around Turbigo and Castano Primo.
The gamble to concentrate on the tanning sector was a winner: in the early 1950s, there was a real boom in the sector and the company worked with tanneries in Tuscany, the Veneto and Campania.
In 1951, Carlo's sons, Francesco and Luigi, started working in the company, which continued to grow.
Over time, manufacturing methods and technologies have improved and the construction of drums and tanning machines has always followed suit. In addition to the traditional use of wood, the company began to use other materials such as stainless steel and polymers, always aiming for the same high quality and working with the same passion.
